On topic but stupid question:

Stock iron block cut by the machine shop with a clean up pass (hopefully .003-.005) but, how do you measure the deck height with any sort of accuracy? Drop gauge mounted in the valley? machine a plug to fit the cam bore and mount an indicator off it?

Tools and inspection equipment I have, basic knowledge on the deck height measurement on a cut block I dont have lol

That’s how I do mine as well, didn’t know if people were doing it some other way

Dial indicator and mag base, measure how far piston comes out of the hole.

I don't know. I will look for the build receipt when I get home tonight. I was brought up on the book "Two Stroke Tuning Handbook" by Gordon Jennings. I recommend that everyone interested in two stroke engines read it. This book made me a strong believer in squish.

It really helps with hot and cold spots by better mixing the air and fuel. I’ve noticed engines with a decent gap are very timing sensitive and prone to knock much more than one that isn’t. My uncle builds a lot of mx and atv race motors and has a dyno.

I don't have a build sheet, just a parts receipt.

If it hasn’t blown yet I’m sure it’s fine
