I favor the Pontiac 250 Sprint OHC over head cam engine.

A buddy had a 68 Firebird with a factory Hurst shifted 3spd manual on the floor...
that little sucker would skin-it-back for a dang six banger!

The Sprint Package came with a freaking Quadrajet 4 bbl Carburetor

I use a edge cts that I had left over from a Duramax build. It records max rpm and a few other pids.

I could have done that with the Ultra gauge but I really like having a proper cluster and one that looks mostly stock.

So I ordered one of the Premium Performance clusters with red Needles and white back lighting.

big money!

This better make your mind up about those 243s more RPMs on the gauge means more RPMs on the engine

Well I was going to be a cheap bastard and just find an OEM 7k cluster but turns out they are custom from https://www.fixmygauges.com/custom-gas-clusters.html. The Owner made them himself apparently. I was expecting to spend closer to $750 for a custom cluster but $430 shipped and no core charge seems like a decent deal to me.

Still unsure about the heads, since its not cold out now the cold start lifter tick isn't annoying me so no rush I guess. Plus they look nice on my kitchen counter.

Huh, I guess I never realized 99-02 were unable to have cool stuff done to them.

Now I need to figure out how to get the trans temp gauge to work in the NV4500. The factory Trans temp sensor is kinda expensive and not direct thread in which sucks. I was hoping to just buy a new PTO port cover and tap it for threads. I might make a new thread on solving this issue because I really want the trans temp to work

What kills the 99-02 to me is the steering wheel.
