I have a spare set of these heads in my garage that I'm considering to have machined. Any suggestions on what I should have done to them that would help with the mods that are in my signature. I've been trying to sell them but I hven't had any bites so I guess I can put them to good use and help make a few more hp on my truck.

i am eager to hear what everyone has to say!

 

from what I have heard... mill them (optional), put a bigger intake valve in them, port and polish....

 

5 angle valve job, replace valves with stainless valves ( stock valves blow!)
port/polish , work the runners/chambers, work the bowls, and mill about .030"

should put you near 30-40 rwhp gain and bump compression almost a point

 

About how much do you think that would cost?

 

i have a set of ls2 valves would they be worth putting in, i know the intake valve is larger than the 862 heads, i have also heard the ls2 valves are longer, so what size pushrods would i need if i choose to run them?
