Hello,

I am looking for feedback on replacing the stock muffler in my '02 8.1 HD Crew Cab. The factory exhaust has 2 pipes entering the muffler and just 1 exiting. I like a good throaty sound but something that won't drive me out of the cab. I will be installing the Stainless Works long tube headers, Volant system, and Westers programming. The factory exhaust (pipes) is actually quite nice and not restictive, just that muffler doesn't work for me.
Any suggestions, without going to a complete Cat Back system?

i have an '01 8.1L crew cab 4x4. when i did my exhaust i had ordered two flowmaster 50 series mufflers, 3" in and out. i had the muffler shop guy cut the old muffler off and ran two pipes to have true dual exhaust. i went with the 50 series muffler because they weren't too loud, and they weren't quiet either. i think it sounds good. i don't know if that answers your question or not, but that is what i did.
