Default 8.1 for 6.0

How easy would it be to buy a new 8.1 engine and slip it into my 2002 6.0 2500hd? Easy but of horsepower and torque plus the big block sound? It was an option for my truck, so how hard could it be? If there's more to it than I think, what's the easiest engine to put in my truck to give it more horsepower? A 383 crate engine? I'm looking for a big block though. Thanks fellas love this community.

Would probably be cheaper to drop a PD blower on top of the 6.0. More power, better gas mileage and much easier to do.

Could someone include a link for a blower kit that would fit? Having trouble finding one specific for the 6.0, that would be more or less drop in and go? Thanks

http://www.magnacharger.com/
This is what I used... I think there may be cheaper kits out there but they have excellent customer support and a very complete kit... If you need a zip tie for something, they provide it in the kit... GM OE components and very detailed instructions.

You can get one from magnuson or whipple. However, The milage will likely wash out.

While there is not alot of economical parts for the 8.1L, I would rather have a 8.1L over a 6.0L for pulling any day of the week.

The oldest year they go under Silverado is 2003 where my truck is a 2002. Or am I missing something?

Im also considering a crate engine 454 or 496, because I could run the 6.0 until it's time has come and get a whole reworking with a new heart and maybe put a blower on that later and have serious power.
