6.o build
What’s up, guys! So I recently decided to build my truck again. I rand into some BS with the mechanic that was suppose to build my truck and I put it off for 7 years. I got into a better financial situation and I’ve decided to revive my truck. I recently bought a 6.0 of a 1500HD and Im in the process of installing everything myself. Ran into some issues fitting the transmission in since I had the 4L60 before and now it’s a 4L80, but I’m slowly getting there with the swap. So my questions is, what is a good set up for something to have on there for a street/strip setup? I wanted to go with a MS4 cam, but I don’t want to put a big cam in there and not put the right combinations to get the most out of it. I wanted a choppy cam but I feel like I’m gonna want to go big. Any suggestions and help I can get is much appreciated. Everything is completely stock

100% Redneck
The smaller the CID (like a 4.8) the same cam grind will chop more in the smaller engine than in a larger CID like the 6.0L. It's really not a good idea selecting a camshaft just to hear a choppy idle but If you go that route look for one with a narrow lobe separation angle (LSA) around 110* - 111* degrees. The narrow LSA will make peak torque come sooner but the torque will fall off sooner too. A "big" cam in a naturally aspirated heavy truck will need a lot of stall, gear and a decent amount of compression ratio or she's gonna be a dog below 2500 RPM.

I didn’t want to do much to it because I just wanted something that sounded mean. After talking to some buddies of mine, well that changed. Not really going with anything major but I wanted the MS4 cam and I found a set of 243 so I was gonna port them and stick them on. Goal is to get to 500hp for now, but I eventually want to procharge it. Any advice on that?
