What is intailed in stroking a 5.3 to a 6.3? I've read about it being done, and was wondering what it takes. Just an Eagle crank, or does the block need to be bored also. What are the advantages/disadvantages to this vs. a 6.0 swap? Thanks for the help

You need to bore the block out to 3.905 (stock LS1 bore) and also add a 4" stroke crank. Just adding the stoker crank will only add up to 359 cu in, plus you would need custom pistons and rods.

tdrumm is right on ( check my signature ).
As far as cost, you will build it yourself cheaper than a 6.0L long block ( the word is out, few good deals on 6.0's anymore ). Don't forget that the 4.8L block is identical so if you stroke it you can use either a 4.8 or 5.3L.
The parts are not "custom" once you get to the 3.905" block bore as it is the same as the LS1/LS6 and internals are plentiful.

Lunati does, and it's the best quality IMHO. I went with the Eagle kit since I was not going to be running 500+ Hp. Eagle is still 4340 forged and good quality, but the Lunati kit has knife edging on the balancers ( less oil windage ) and overall better quality control. Only down side is they charge for the quality, usually about $1000-$1500 more than Eagle.
