K, can someone help me figure this one out?


I bought an 09 L92 out of an Escalade..


This is what my valley cover looked like:

Found a picture recently of someone selling an 09 L92 out of an Escalade..

This is what their valley cover looks like..





Why are they different??

The motor in the second pic has afm and dod and the motor you bought doesn't.

well ****, I wondered why the Valley cover I bought to help delete the DOD looked damn near the same.. I wasn't aware the escalades ever came without DOD/VVT

Where did you find that motor?Was it out of a mud truck?That is alot of dirt.

It could be a L9H 6.2 out of a silverado or sierra vmax. They are vvt non AFM engines. If it was used out in the sticks I've seen them that dirty before but it takes about 100K before they look that bad.

eh, its been completely torn down bored and built now..

so not worried about it anymore, just hate I had to special order a different valley pan to help delete the DOD.. .

only to later figure out I didn't actually need that piece lol
