Default Is this 6.2 swap worth it???

I currently got a 10' Sierra with a 6.2, LT headers, ypipe, borla exhaust and blackbear tuned. I was looking at calling PatG on a custom vvt cam and porting my heads here soon. But i just got offered a freshly rebuilt 6.2 for $2000 plus my motor. I'm trying to find out more details about it, so far I know it's stock internals, 823 heads milled and ported, comp cam(no vvt) and said to make 460rwhp. So would it be worth it just to take that 6.2; or just keep mine and spend close to 2k on custom cam, new valve train and head work ?

Just keep yours and mod it. No telling the history of that motor. I would spend the money on a good cam and mill your own heads. Prob be cheaper and a lot less work then swapping motors. Why keep vvt? I would have someone spec out a good reg cam for that 6.2

It's more parts to buy when doing a vvt delete. And with the vvt it will help with the low end then pick up in the upper rpm. I know you can make sick numbers with a nonvvt cam, but this is my daily and with a custom specd vvt cam the hp/tq numbers shouldn't be that far off.

There are actually a couple guys running vvt cams pushing close to what non vvt motors are.... But dont expect ridiculous numbers and a lopey idle... the vvt also helps with low end which the revtangular port heads lose a lot of... If your engine was trashed or you had a 4.8 or 5.3.. It would be a no brainer and id say go for the other engine if not id probably save the hassle and do a swap on what you already have a history with....
