I've been looking into swapping out my 5.3 just for the fact it can make more power. I've been looking around and im seeing a lot of van 6.0s can I use one of these? and what exactly will i need to perform the swap.I know it sounds dumb but I don't want any bumps especially when it come to the engine.

I'm in the same boat, and you're right, it does seem like there's a lot of van 6.0s, and some good deals on them. So what's the deal guys?

I assume you guys are talking about lq4s. As far as i know they are direct swaps. Just flash the pcm with a 6.0 tune.

The Express/Savana 6.0 are the same...cheaper too, bought one last year for $360 They have a cable throttle body instead of the DBW, swap your intake over and its good to go.

Yeah, you just drop in the longblock with your intake and accessories and you're gtg. Plus the tune, of course.

well, some are lq4, some are ly6's, depends on year model. G-van 6.0's have dbw TB on the newer ones, and all the ly6 ones.

Also...Isuzu, gmc, chevy, and workhorse medium duty have 6.0's 05 up for sure. most lq4, but new ones are ly6. In fact I saw a LY6/allison 6 speed combo in a ups workhorse chassiss the other day...that would make a sweet turbo setup.
