From what I am hearing, the 6.0L is incredible, especially with forced induction, even in a relatively heavy truck. I am sooooooooooo eager to get one of these monsters into my 3400LB 1969 Chevelle. What a blast!!!!

I know the pistons are different in that they are flat tops. How about the rods? What exactly is different about them? Length? Weight? Design?

The pic shows a more robust rod. I was hoping for some real spec's. Search didn't find specs.

I would defenitley go with a 6.0................. If you are not planning on runnig a power adder I woiuld suggest going with the LQ9. The lq9 doesnt take boost as well as an lq4 because of higher compression. The LQ9 would be sick by itself anyway 340hp/360ft lbs. (I beleive those are the specs on it??)

Mileage is 14.1mpg with the 6.0L, 5.3L use to get 14.5-15mpg.

Now if I was to do it over again, I would have swapped for a 6.0L right of the bat, instead of spending money on the little things. Also if I was to pick a cam for the 6.0L I would go a little bigger.

with the mods in my sig, jim out ran me good in his almost stock VHO. all he has is a volant intake with the ram air setup, and a tune from nelson performnce. we both have the same size trucks, and we did the same exact weight reductions. i would say its worth it!

Try 345 hp and 380 lb/ft of torque. I just found out a new LQ9 is $3700. Looks like IF I do this swap(there's now a posibilty i won't), I'll have to get a used one.

A good 6.0 in a truck with all bolt ons and 3.37 gears and a tb converter with a thunder racing tune should run in 12.80s to 12.60s in the heat,12.20s to 12.0 in good cold temps.
