6.0 goes right in as long as it as a 2001 or newer, you dont need the 4l80e to go with a 6.0.

if you plann on pushing it like alot of boost or nitrous on the 6.0 then geting the 4l80e in there might be worth your time. i am working on that project right now but with a 4wd. a couple of things you will need for sure.

4l80e flexpate, tranny, dipstick tube.
have to rework the tranny lines a little.
have to have a drive shaft made, probably need the 4l80e shaft or at least the yolk and your drive shaft to make it work.
have to get a conversion harness and reprogram for you ecm, thats $150 or you might be able to figure out something with the stock 6.0/4l80e computer.
need to rework you cross member, on my truck all i have to do is add a plate on the back of it, i will have pic's up of that in a day or so.
exhaust might need reworked but it looks like it will be ok on my truck.
might have to dent in the floor a little, i will know more on that in a day or so also.

there is probably some stuff i forgot but if you plan on making BIG power it would be worth it. if you just want a 6.0 even with a power adder and a bunch of bolt ons a build 4l60e would be alot easier.

What's the conversion harness for, I thought the 6.0L had the same wiring setup as the 5.3L? So who makes/sell's the conversion harness? Thanks again for the great info!!

the conversion harnes is just if you went to the 4l80e and used your truck factory computer, speartech sells it but they dont list it on their web site. if you just go with a 6.0 you can prety much just bolt it in. real easy swap but it would benifit alot with some tuning.
