Default 6.0L timing

Does it make sense that a 02 6.0L has 11.5* of timing at wot? Removed the maf screen and got it up to 13.5. Cruising was 49.5* of timing. I remember hearing that the sweet spot is 26-28*

I realy don't know your truck and your mods, but I can give you an idea. Timing at low rpms / low throttle is usually very high. AS you hit more throttle, the timing usually is less. I can think of 2 reasons you have such low timing: One, you are having knock retard that is pulling timing out, or you are in area of the PCM that has low timing by default. I had both of these issues. I was flowing more air than GM though it would ever do, so instead of a nice mid-20s timing number, it was something like 15. A tune can fix it. Custom tune, LS1 edit, or maybe even a handheld programmer.

I have an airaid intake on it, I wonder if I put the stock one back on if it would help? Makes me think no because I gained 2* at wot when I removed the maf screen. Oh yeah, auto tap said zero knock retard
