Default 6.0l Swap info

I have a 2000 rcsb with a 4.8l it is getting ready to become an extra car and not an every day driver. . My truck has 165,000 miles and I am hesitant to do anything to the motor that is in it now. I have been reading about the 6.0L swap and would like to get some info on how hard it will be to do. I work for a ford dealer in the parts dept. so getting parts will not be problem. Knowing what I need to get will be. If any one has any insight they would like to pass on I would be very grateful.

Get new 6.0L engine install where 4.8L engine was and reprogram the computer and you are on your way (all the engine accessories are same.) Just make sure you don't get 99 6.0L because the crankshafts are longer and will cause problem with your tranny.

Like cb said, its as simple as pulling the old motor out swaping the accesories and putting the new one in. Then all you need is the pcm retuned. It will run on the stock tune, but not as well as a retune.

Make sure the spacer comes out with the old flywheel when you switch them. Also you probably need to switch over the oil pressure sending unit. It's behind the intake. Be careful, it's cheap plastic and I broke mine (50 bucks)

Dont get an 00 6L either I have heard of people having problems with the crank also. Build a stroker motor while ur at it so you dont ahve to worry about the crank
