Default 6.0 won't start

Hey guys, having a helluva weekend. Did knock sensor replacement and that was successful. Took 2002 2500 out for a few burnouts and everything was fine. Parked it for a couple hours. Jumped in it and I can hear the starter ticking rapidly. Put battery charger on it and it won't start. Replaced starter, battery shows 13.5 volts on volt meter. I am going to get a new battery now. Anyone have any suggestions?

Bad ground is a good guess.

If the battery is showing 13.5 volts with the motor off then something is wrong.

I bet one of the cells in the battery is shorted out and a new one will fix it

Are battery terminals clean and tight, and a battery that just came off of a charger will show anywhere between 13.5-14.4 volts, that's is just a "surface charge" turn all the lights on and then load test the battery and read the voltage. You didn't break the small grounding wire next to the oil pressure sender did you? Or leave the ground loose?

It was a bad battery. Feel kinda dumb.

i was surprised the truck refused to start off of a 200 amp wheeled battery charger/engine starter. Even hooked the box up to the battery cables and it refused to start. Fresh battery and everything worked flawlessly.

thanks guys
