Default 6.0 vs 5.3

i have a quick question, i have a 02 single cab and i am wondering how much quicker a 6.0l is rather than a 5.3 and if it would be worth the money to convert to a 6.0l. i found a brand new long block on ebay for 1300 is that a good price, or worth that amount for the power i will gain

I think most buy the 6.0 for what it could be, vice what it is.
By that I mean, the future possibility of a stroker.

A 6.0L swap is one of the best bangs for the buck, if not the best.

The difference is huge, I think I gained around 75 RWHP and probly the same amount of torque.

Is it a 345hp 6.0 or the version in the 3/4 ton trucks?

Other than the .6 CR bump in the LQ9 due to the different pistons ALL '01+ 6.0's are the same otherwise internally......and BOTH the LQ4 and the LQ9 can be built to over 400rwhp VERY easily

6.0, 6.0 and 6.0
as a general consensus those who have swapped over to the 6.0 from a 5.3; 4.8 all have reported anywhere from 70-90 rwh gain. as a stand alone, the 6.0 is a torque brute and runs like a screaming eagle with a small cam!! i know you've hear this a million times but here it goes again..hp sells engines, torque wins races! I have personally witnessed the 6.0 in a full body crew cab 1500 (stock LQ4) with +60,000 miles smoke 5.3s, 4.8s, and even a 2004 Ford 5.4 Titon each of these vehicles weighed far less than the 6.0 crew cab and still the 6.0 dominated!! Now as an aftermarket stroker... well..the 4.125in crank is on the way from callies (6-8 weeks) but we're all thinking it'll get us in the 10's pretty easily...
hope this helps, and watch out for shipping when buying on ebay...it can get pretty expensive to ship 1000 lbs!
let me know if i can help
