Default 6.0 swap q's

My friend is looking to buy a rcsb 03-05ish model and wants to swap a 6.0 in it. we were wondering how much money some of yall have spent on the swap total and what all parts were needed that we might not be thinking of. is there anything needed in the drivetrain dept? driveshaft, rearend?

its an easy swap. a shorblock will due because all of the accessories, etc will swap straight from a 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, ls1 etc straight to the 6.0. i swapped and my only costs were the new motor, fluids, headgaskets(because the heads were pulled on my motor) headbolts and thats it. tranny will bolt right up...a custom tune is something to look into which can be had around 250.

yes if u get the 4.3 your going need to do alot more **** and it becomes into more of a project then a stright forward swap and your probly going to end up spending more than what u will save buying the V6

Swapping a 6L V-8 into a truck that came with a V-6 (4.3) would be more work than if you swapped the 6L into a truck that came with a V-8 (4.8)

if he can find a scsb 4.8 it would be a perfect cheaper candidate. a scsb lq9 should be able to pull off low 12's with the right mods all motor
