6.0 swap!! im excited!
#1
my 2000 sierra is needing some more power, i ran across a high mileage 6.0 and tranny, so i m going to get them rebuilt soon and swap them out, is it easier to swap the computer and wiring from one truck to another, or to use my existing computer and wiring from the 4.8 on my 6.0, my truck is a 2000 and the truck the motor and tranny came out of is a 2000 also. and i want to put a ls6 intake on it, cant i do that easily? what else can i do to hop up this 6.0 thats affordable??? and if anyone has much info on doing this swap it would be greatly appreciated

Use the existing wiring, but swap computers. LS6 intake takes some work to convert to. There's a couple of write-ups out there, do a search.
What kind of trans is it? Make sure it's a 4L60E like your truck has, otherwise you'll need the conversion parts to make a 4L80E work in your truck.
If you're having the engine rebuilt anyway, it would be easy to change to a more aggressive cam or heads while it's apart. Depending on your budget, you might also consider doing some forged internals.
What are your power goals? It's probably best to start by defining your goals, then work into which mods to choose from there.
As far as the actual swap itself, it's very easy. Pull one engine out, drop the other one in. Externally they are exactly the same dimensions, and all of the sensors are wiring are identical.

+1 on re-using the factory harness. if your are mating it with a 4L60E you will need to swap the 6.0 flexplate to your original one. also there is a spacer there you need to remove. just thread 2 bolts in it and turn, it comes right out.....actually im not too sure about the pre-01' motors
