I am looking into a 6.0 swap for my 1999 silverado 2wd. However I had a few people try telling me that I cannot do this swap because you can only do it with the years that came with the motor stock as an option. Another words since the 1999's only came with 4.8 and 5.3 as options i cannot put a 6.0 from a 2001 0r a 2003 b/c there not interchangeable-----Any input?

 

Dookie. Get at least an 01+ motor and drop it in. Earlier year motors had cast heads and you really want to get the 317 aluminum heads. Im throwing an 03 motor in. Yes it will work but your tranny wont like it!

 

My 99 2wd has an 02 6.0L in it. Tell whoever told you that to not quit their day jobs and leave the truck performance to the boys over here at the wonderful TRUCKPERFORMANCE.NET. You will have no problem with swapping them out. What are you waiting for.....get to work!!!!
