Default 6.0 Motor swap

Ok first off I am new to the site. And so far it's the coolest forum I have found. Anyways....I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3L I have found a 6.0L and 80E for under $2300 so I am looking to do the swap. But the person who took the 6.0 out cut the engine harness. Will the 5.3L harness work? If not where can I get one for the 6.0? Also what is all involved with the swap besides the tune? Tranny mounts or anything like that. Any help here would be awesome!

Thanks for the help

youd be best off if could get the whole underside of the truck that this drivetrain is coming from like the driveshaft, axle, and diff. Otherwise, your in for some serious fab with the 80e.

well the 6.0 will drop right in. the ecu and harness and everything else from the 5.3 will swap to the 6.0. now as for the 80 transmission you will have to probably fab up a new crossmeber. Flyer on here and a few otehr guys have switched to the 80.

Do I have to change the tranny lines or anything? Or does it all match up. I haven't seen to many people talking about the 2wd swaps. This set up is from a dually so will the ds work or will i have to change my stocker? The crossmember shouldn't be a problem for me. Should i reflash the stock ecu or take the one from the 6.0L dually?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site. You'll find lots of info on 6.0 swaps here and what you'll need to get it done. Believe me, the search button is your friend.
