Ok guys well in my search for my new motor I've found a complete 6.0 pull out. It's complete from pan to manifold and I have a few questions. Are the injectors on the 6.0 any bigger than my 5.3 ? Also is the intake manifold any different ? I just need to know what will work and wont. Now I want to put a dry shot on it but I need to know if that will be ok ? I'm just worried about running out of fuel. I only want a 100 dry shot but I might just go for a wet shot. Also does anyone have a ls1edit file for a 6.0 in the 5.3 ? And I dont have ls1edit on this computer does anyone have it? I have the cable sorry for all the questions I just want to be driving this thing this weekend.

The intakes and injectors are the same as on a 5.3.

 

You are gonna have to give year models of the 6.0 and your truck.

 

Sorry the 6.0 is an 01 i believe, what years were iron headed ? Any my truck is a 02 silverado.

 

Your 02 truck w/5.3 has 25.xlbs/hr injectors, same as 6.0's. Intakes are the same. Will be border line on 100 shot dry, can do it 100shot wet. 2000 or older 6.0 with cast iron heads will not work with your transmission, crank is too long.

 

the injectors are the same and not big enuff for much of a dry shot, go wet. your fuel pump/lines will support the 6.0 and at least a 125wet shot.

 

Ok thanks for all the help, yeah i knew not to get an iron headed 6.0 i'll double check tomorrow when i pick it up to makes sure all is well. I can get the stuff for a wet shot so I'll do that for the sbso. I hope to be there this time with my truck and maybe being more competitive. So last thing what can I do for tuning anyone have some files I can look over ? Also I need the program for ls1edit it's on my ohter computer so if anyone has that it would be greatly appreciated thanks again for all the help. Now could I get away with a 4000 stall and a 150 shot or is the shot too big ? Man i'm getting anxious and I dont even have a motor yet it's been a long time since I"ve driven this thing.

 

i can send you an edit file for an 02 6.0 1500hd w 4l80e trans. do you want a completely unmodified file or a hpp111 mimic trans mod file. as far as edit can't you download it from carputing if you have the cable and license ?

 

Question.

Is all the smog stuff the same on the 6.0L as the 5.3l? I was seriously thinking of swapping out my motor but I didn't want the smog ****'s to be able to detect anything and send me to a referee.

 

Well the 6.0 has alot of emissions stuff that my 5.3 didnt luckily my car is a 2002 and i'm just using my manifolds and such. I wouldnt be worried about emissions they dont check anything but the computer around here and its so easy to pass and you also should learn where to go and where not to.
