Default 6.0 Liter buildup for 04 GMC RST

Sup fella's, new to the forum, Ive come all the way from FullSizeChevy.com, lol. Been plottin on a fairly long term 6.0 liter project. I'd like to go from the block up. I hear the bottom ends on these engines are incredibly strong. So that should save some dough. My rig has a 5 speed now and I'd like to keep it a manual transmission. Ive heard the T56 will do, but I'll need some driveshaft modification, no biggie. The biggest question I have is the computer, and tuning it. How would you fella's do the buildup??

is your truck a 4.8 or a 4.3? If its an V8 already you can download the tables for the computer, I would not know for the V6. As far as the transmission you can set the computer to not read A4 settings.

A buddy of mine is running his LQ9 on the 4.8 PCM. It has some peaks and valleys in the dyno curves, but it still is about 50hp stronger than my 5.3 with the mods.

Once You Tune It It Does Not Matter What Motor The Truck Had 6.0 Are 5.3 We Don't Change The Pcm.

So all I would have to do is pull out the 4.8 and put the 6.0 back in its place, no change of harnesses? What if i have a cam and headers, will they also work with the 6.0, or would I need new stuff?

Dont mean to hijack this post, but I am having the same questions

It will perform better if you get it tuned for your mods.

nothing specific should need to be changed other than the pcm programming.

Headers for a 4.8/5.3 block line up the same as for a 6.0?
