Yeah, Ive got the 4.8. D@mn, I didnt know so many parts were compatible with the 4.8 up to the 6.0. Now, if yall were doin the project how would yall go about it? Motorwise I mean. Ive heard the 6.0 liter stock bottom ends can handle 600-700 HP. If thats true I'll save some dough on a bottom end. What kind of heads would yall go with?? Or would you just get the stock ones tricked out?? Sorry if it takes me a while to reply to my thread fella's, Im in Baghdad and we've been runnin missions like crazy.

What would happen if I put in a 6.0 short block, and keep the 4.8 heads up? Would this increase the compression?

Yes it would. Much higher, probably too high, because the 4.8 liter head has a 61 cc combustion chamber and the 6.0 head is 72cc. An LQ9's compression ratio is already 10.08:1. The 6.0 heads are the same chamber and port design as LS6 heads so they flow better anyway.

the 6.0 can handle some juice, but if u plan on running more than 500hp ... i would get a better rotating assm.. and i would espeically be worried about rod bolts.

get a 6.0 ... put like a TR224 in it... with a tt3000 ... long tubes, elect fans, slap a radix on the top and call it a day
