Hey everybody i need help. I am currently trying to build a race truck. That still is a everyday driver but doesnt have to pass smog. I just purchased a 03 chevy truck that is a single cab, i am going to put a 6.0 liter motor in it and want to completly redue the engine from bottom to top. I was wondering what parts i should use. Im trying to run mid to low 12's i am wondering if that is possible and i am lookin into running a healhy shot of nitrous. please help me out thanks

with a built 6.0 and a 150 shot if you have the right setup you should definatly be in the low 12s. i will have a semi built 6.0 with a 150 shot with good heads/cam setup with plenty of converter in my truck for a while and PLAN on 11s with it. then it's time for a 382 all bore nitrous motor!!!

100% stock 5.3L with a 150 HP nitrous kit and 3000+ converter will put you into the 12 on a tire. Did it on a 03 5.3L SC/SB. Only tricks for the track were: !cat back (litterally took off the muffler and tail pipe section) !hitch,!passenger seat(watch out of air bag sensor issues),!center console,!jack and accessories,!spare tire,!tailgate, !intake, ran relocated TB and 26" tire to match rear in front.
Its not fun to drive on the street this way but it can be done...

Yeah, you strip out alot of that extra weight, that'll help you out, but you're still gonna have traction problems, unless you toss a Civic in the bed :p.
I'd say a forged 6.0L w/ ported heads, full boltons, full exhaust, Radix blower w/ about 14psi should pull of some pretty impressive #s. If not, do a forged 6.0, toss on about a 200shot, and all the other stuff, and hopefully watch Lightnings fizzle into the distance

Uhhhhm .. maybe you need to do some practical research. That truck nets 1.80-1.85 60 foots w/o track bars ... if your talking street trucks, spend another $800 and convert your shock orientation to dual linear 1:1 ratio rear mounts and add a $200 traction bar. Hey, but what do I know.

, it will just bolt in and most likely run fine, when i went from a 5.3 to a 6.0 all i did at first was turn up the idle a little. to run it's best you will want to tune it though.
