I've been told that the 99 and 00 6.0L crankshaft is longer to accomodate the 4L80E torque converter. I guess its cheaper to make crankshafts than to make a thicker torque converter?

From 2000 up the 4l60E is not an option for the 6.0 just the 4L80E. I thought the 5.3 and the 6.0 had the same crank though. They have the same stroke. The largest T/C on the 4L60E is 300mm and the only one on the 4L80E is 310mm, so they could be different.

Thanks, it's hard to find a lot of info on the changes they make from year to year.
