Post 6.0 Cam...blower?

Yo.

Im tired of my truck after 2 months, and I decided to swap in a LQ4.

Im gonna use all my bolts on obviously, and Im gonna run alot bigger cam. Bascially looking at my mods, what Cam in 6.0 make lots of power?

Next, Now i know a larger stall can get you into your cam power, but I do want to blow the truck..nether next summer, or 2 winters. So I dont want a cam to large for a blower, or a Stall to big. So oi think I'll keep the 2600 yank for now.

So bascially what cam N/a is great....

and

What cam would work great for a bit until I get a blower?? Id imagine a smaller cam would work better for a blower??? I could be way off?

Opinions needed!

are you gettin something like a radix/kb or a procharger/vortech type blower, two different types of blowers = two different types of cams

no, on a centrifugal the more rpms you have the more boost you have. whereas on a roots/roots-hybrid/twin screw you have full boost at around 2000-2500rpm and its flat all the way to the shift point. in a centrifugal you start building boost at around 2000-2500rpm and its linear until you shift so at 2000rpm you have 0psi( no vac.)-theoretically, not sure on exact numbers- then at 3krpm you have 2psi, 4krpm - 4psi, 5krpm - 6psi, 6krpm - 8psi, 7krpm - 10psi, etc. you would just keep building boost with building rpms until the compressor ran out of air. you want to stall past the lack of boost in the bottom end just like stalling past the lack of power in the bottom end on a NA setup

i know you are getting a good deal on the vortech but id suggest either a radix or KB

when boosted you will probably want some 28" et streets

EDIT: look at ranwalk's setup, he has a 6.0 + procharger and i think around a 3200-3400 stall, the thing i do when thinking about a new setup, is find someone with that setup, SOMEONE always has it , and then find out what parts they used and how they liked them

get the vortech intercooler, ive heard several that got the non IC unit and said they wished they had gotten the IC unit to start with

i dont know if id go with a 230 cam or not thats a little big

you are going to need the cam on a 114-116 LSA to help reduce overlap which would bleed off boost. and i think something wiht a small exhaust bias is what you want something on the order of a 224/226 on a 114 . or close to that

im no cam expert so if someone sees something wrong with any of this speak up. my advice is to call richard at wcch and ask him to spec you out a cam for this app - vortech SC 6.0 and ask about the stall speed to match it

icic soudns good. Well we will see what i go with... may go maggie so i can have full boost all the time, and it would save me from buying ANOTHER stall...cause the 2600 would probably work good. Well see tho....undecided still if i should get the blower this year, or swap the motor...motor will be cheaper...but a blower would be nice..
