That is the high pressure variant, the 10296 is the high volume. Also depends on how you set up your bearing clearances. Mine is a stock LQ4 with unknown miles(looked clean and low mileage), wish I had more history on my motor. Ive never went to an aftermarket pump as Ive always been able to get what I needed out of a stock pump whether by oil weight, shimming, porting or just running it stock.

On a few cam swaps Ive done, I pull the pump off, shim the spring, and port the entrance where the pick up tube goes in and thats usually enough to get me close to 10#s more oil pressure.

My engine will have factory bearing clearances. The crank was only polished and all bearings are standard.

Just talked to the shop on the rods. He checked them for size with the ARP bolts. Five of them are good. Two of them are tight, which can be honed for standard bearings. The last one is about .002" oversized. I told him to check the last one with factory bolts. If it fixes it, I told him to oput all factory bolts in them. If not, then hone the two tight rods with the ARP bolts and I'll come up with another LS2 rod. Bummer. Better safe than sorry though. Glad I had him check them.

Another though, would it be a bad idea to size the one oversized rod, and leave the others all standard? I don't see any point in resizing them all to oversized if not needed.

I think I know what the outcome of this is going to be. I don't believe the factory bolts are going to fix this. With 5 of them good, 2 tight, and 1 out of round by .002", I think it's simply the rods themselves. With that in mind, does anyone have a OEM LS2, LQ9, or 04+ LQ4 rod they would sell me?

I just called the shop and told them to leave the ARP bolts in, resize the two tight ones, and I'll come up with another rod. I can order the one on eBay used and wait, or I can have a new one tomorrow for $119

I bit the bullet and ordered a new one. Will have it tomorrow. I don't want to take a chance of getting a used one, only to find that it has ussues as well.

The Comp trunions are installed. Piece of cake with my new Harbor Freight 1 ton arbor press. Took maybe 1-1 1/2 hours total.

Is the 1 ton HF press big enough to put a carrier for pressing on bearings? Ive been meaning to pick up a press and this would just be another use for it
