Default 6.0 and 4L80E swap

I'm looking at swapping both a LQ4 and 4L80E into my truck, and I've seen some of these combos sold as complete dropouts from trucks. Could I be lucky enough to just pull my engine and trans install the new ones complete from a 2500 and be good to go, or will I still require tuning and such? I've searched and searched but nothing to be found on this question.

Tuning will be required, as will some minor wiring, modifying your crossmember, shortening your driveshaft. Thats off the top of my head. This is assuming you have a 4L60E and 2wd now.

I do currently have a 2wd and 4L60E. I have a 2002 with a 5.3 and 4L60E. If the dropout comes complete with a PCM, can I avoid the modification on wiring? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm weighing my options right now.

It depends on what year you get the pull out from. You may still have an issue getting to start. VATS system may not like the VIN from the donor. Either way a Tune still wouldn't hurt and they can change the VIN when they flash the computer.
