Default 5.7L Vortec Exhaust advice?

I want to run a Dual exhaust, but I have no clue what kind of mufflers I want to go with. People have told me to go with Cherry Bombs, Hookers, or Magnaflows. I'm open to suggestions. What im really looking for is a Deep Throaty sound out of my exhaust. It's basically all stock. Any Suggestions? Thanks

just listen to sound clips or better yet talk to people you see with exhaust systems and ask what they have, exhaust tone is a personal preference type thing...

ive got a spintech (not sure which one haha) with turndowns. makes the truck quiet at idle and cruising without my foot on the gas. noisy when i step on it. havent noticed a difference in SOTP or gas mileage(havent even run half a tank through it yet), but im never going back to flowmaster. depending on where you live you may want to get it coated or in stainless steel. not sure why so many people want true duals, my understanding is that it kills low end torque, which a big 4x4 will need

Your stock y-pipe has tiny kink-bent pipes, and the manifolds aren't that great either. I'd suggest replacing all of that to see some decent gains in power (and sound). Muffler choice is kind of a personal preference thing though.

I put on a set of Pacesetter longtubes, fabbed up a Y pipe and had a muffler shop install everything. I went with a Magnaflow 18x5x8 SI/SO and its great. I had a Flowmaster Super 40 for years and it sounded good, but I just wanted something different. The Magnaflow has a deep throaty sound and Im pleased with it.

I've been listening to clips on videos, and youtube just doesnt do it justice. I plan on doing complete exhaust at a later point in time, but I just wanna go with mufflers back. I was just trying to get a few opinions. I appreciate it all, and am still open to suggestions. I'm thinkin magnaflow is the best choice right now, but all ive heard is youtube clips. I cant find the 5.7L on the website

350's didn't have Y pipes.... just V6's and 305's. The 350 has dual dinky 1 7/8" pipe feeding the stock garbage can muffler. So OP if you are keeping it for now you need 2" inlets on your new mufflers.

A good cheap exhaust muffler forward is to find a 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a 350 in it. They use 2 3/4" dual head pipes like the 454's did, just necked at the inlet for the 350's exhaust manifold. Then even cheap shorty headers would be better than nothing. Best is still long tubes however. And that at least allows you to look up to the 2000 model year.

I have no muffler input advice, I hate noise of any kind.
