There's a LOT of stuff you should think about doing before a cam swap. Plan the build out first so you don't find yourself spending money twice on the same parts (bigger stall, steeper gears, bigger/smaller cam). I'm a firm believer in starting at the rear and working forward, unless somethings really cheap (I've only got $100 in my cai/muffler). So with $1100 i would suggest gears, posi, vette servo (only 20 bucks and easy install) and stall IF you can do the labor yourself, and use your predator to tune for the gear swap. If gotta pay to have it done, i'd say gears, posi, vette servo, and a BB tune.

And this cam you speak of, is $750 for the cam and required springs etc? and a cam that pulls to 7500 is probably going to have NO bottom end and you'll hate driving your truck.

Good advice. Start at the back and work forward.

I dont see that happening with stock valvetrain. Your gonna need some upgraded rockers and so on. i would recommend shaft mounted rockers for reliability around 7500+

Another good simple bolt on is efans if your truck doesn't already have them. It makes your engine bay a little quieter and when I did mine my ac works a little better. Just throwing this out their since your on a budget

Is that 750$ for just the cam? Or does that come with new push rods, springs, and lifters?
