Default 5,3L Truck Times?

One of my friends at school just got a 03 gmc 1500 2dr short bed truck. I was wondering what it should run stock with the 5,3 in it. Also what is the corvette servo I always hear everyone on hear talking about them having?

I got the same truck but a Z71, mine has 20"s, Tri-Flo exhaust and a K&N drop in. Mine ran 15.7 all night. A converter and long tubes are coming soon!!

The guy with the new 03 gmc ran my friends 01 gmc c3 with the 6.0. The guy with the C3 ran a 15.8 before he put his 22's on there. But when they ran the guy with the new 03 gmc with the 5.3 beat him by about 3 or 4. So Id be safe in saying he is running 15.5's?

It just depends on the miles and wear and tare of the firebird. I hate to say it but i raced a 01 bird with a a4 at about a 40 mph roll (everyone with a 5.3 or 4.8 knows thats death to begin with if you dont have a cam) and he was slowly but surely pullin on me. Off the line if new 5.3 has posi he will probably get him up untill around 50 mph or higher then the bird will catch up. (correct me if im wrong guys) O and the corvette servos are a disk looking part that will firm up sift pressure over. aka a piece in the tranny <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> my .02

Well alright man. Thanks for the info. That 5.3 and 6.0 especially have almost as much of a kick as my car for the initial little punch but then its bye bye. They both try and pass me all the time I always let them get a running start and get to the pipes on my car and hit it. I stop them pullin as soon as I hit the gas but usually takes about 2 to 3 seconds to equal out the jump I gave em before I start pulling. That sound bout normal or is that a little slow?

Sounds about right. I mean a sbrc weighs about 4800 and i bet a T/A is some where around 3400 to 3800 pounds??? Anyway you proabaly have the M6 which is a big help and your motor puts out more hp and tq not to menchion that your car is alot better balanced so you can get the power to the ground easier.
