no, max bore on a 5.3 is about 3.905

They will vary, but even boring it to LS1 5.7 over bore size (3.905) they should be checked to be sure they're still thick enough.

Well for instance going to 3.900 bore for LS1 pistons, whats a good amount of wall to have left?

i was under the impression that 5.3 and 6.0 blocks were the same except for the bore?

I wouldnt of thought that to be true because they wouldnt waste time boring the same block to make a 6.0 when they can just cast them for the bigger bore.
