I'm with the others that are telling you to stay smaller cubes with the 1900 blower. More cubes needs more air, and a bigger blower.

If you really need to rebuild it, punch it out to 5.7 and get it dialed in. I honestly don't believe you'll get very much more out of a 383 stroker for the price difference. If you really want a 408, the 1900 blower is small. While it will be fun, and more power than you have now, I'd bet a 383/1900 combo could make more power if set up properly.

It absolutely would make more power, but lets remember power is only torque x rpm. The 408 combo would make more torque at a lower rpm, therefor slightly less power. But it goes back to what you want...gobs of torque at low rpm is more fun than lots of power at high rpm, IMO (ive had both).

A new bottom end and trans cost about the same as a new TVS2300. Screw it; throw a big-cube block under that blower and throw a 4L80 at it and go play. If you get bored with that in a couple years, you'll already be set up to go nuts with a 2.3-liter SC. IMHO.

I like the 408/TVS1900 setup right now for the money and the 4L80 is gonna be a problem cause I don't know anyone in MI that can do it for me .. My trans is rated at 800hp and it's my 3rd one and it's lasted me the longest.. It's been a year with this 800hp trans and no problems with. My question is if I do the 408/TVS1900 and not drive my SUV as a DD anymore will my trans hold up ???

DD shouldn't be a problem, but beating on it might. Do the bottom-end swap then drive it while you save for a trans swap. I'm from MI originally, where do you live? There are two shops i believe in the Detroit area that used to compete to see who could build the quickest Escalade and I know at least one of them went 4L80E. Livernois maybe? I don't know, it was a 2nd-gen Escalade a long time ago, but I guarantee you that there are plenty of shops thy do the swap, once your ready for it.

How much do you want to spend? 317s on the cheap ($150ish), L92s for a bit more ($400ish), and worked L92s or aftermarket AFR 215s perhaps for $2000+
