Default 5.3 vs 6.2

im ready for a new truck i want a gmc 1500 ecsb is worth pay a little extra to get the 6.2 and will i notice the power difference any input would be helpful thanks

Big power difference and way more potential out of a 6.2

went from a 07 tahoe 2wd with 5.3 and 4 spd auto to a 09 sierra 4wd with 6.2 and 6 spd (non-denali). Performance difference is eye watering. I think the sticker upgrade for the 6.2 is like a grand. I would have payed twice that. FYI, I never got better than 15mpg in the HOE. I get 13.1 city and 19.9 hwy in the 6.2. Probably the biggest drawback is finding a truck with all the options you want AND the 6.2L. I got mine in May and the dealer had to go 500miles one way to pick it up. My buddy has got the same truck with ARH headers, Diablo handheld programmer, and flowmasters. Its like riding in a SVT mustang. Just raw power and quick shifts. He regularly does 120mph, effortlessly.

I'd buy the 6.2. and a new keyboard with working punctuation marks.

6.2 is more than worth it IMO.They are nice!!

go with the 6.2. it comes with a very nice transmission too! 6 speed automatic
