What is that sensor that is at the back of the valley cover, next to the oil pressure sending unit? My new intake is hitting the plug for the sensor. I noticed that LS1 valley covers dont have that sensor and the oil pressure sending unit integral with the valley cover, they just mount directly to the block. I think I may have to use and LS1 cover, is that possible?

OK, then where are the knock sensors on a 5.3?

 

they are the two sensors on the valley cover plate!

 

I don't have the two sensors on the cover plate, Here is a partial pic of it.

My valley cover plate looks different as far as the knock sensors.

 

This 5.3 is from a 2007 Tahoe, I wonder if they changed the design a bit.
