Default 5.3 then and now?

I know horse power for the 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l have steadily went up since 99. Anyone know the difference on the 5.3l engines from 99 to now. I have a 2002 with the 5.3l and was curiuos about the changes to get the new spec of 310hp. Is this the new "HO" version or the standard 5.3l spec? Last years 5.3l engine I though was rated at 295hp? Thanks.

the 310 horse has more compression and a bigger cam for the main changes. it has been posted before.

The new HO version gets LS6 heads, flat top pistons, aluminum block???, but final outcome is 10:1 CR.

power differences on the H.O 5.3 and LM7 should be hardly anything...the big difference comes with the weight savings of the aluminum block

i don't think they are LS6 heads. i believe the chamber is smaller than the LS6 head. if i recall the port work is based on the LS6 head.
