any one put a procharger on a 5.3? i plan to due to the fact it is intercooled. i dont trust the whipple due to the fact you can get some detonation, even thought you get instant boost.
also i am going to install a set of mildly ported and polished ls1 heads on the engine they will bolt up. it will drop compressio from 9.5 to 9.1 also the intake valves are bigger. has any one done this mod? and if so how does it run?

 

I never have had any detonation with my Whipple, and I am from Cali with 91 octane.

 

I plan on doing the same with my 5.3 by this summer.
