I am planning on getting the Nelson Tune and was wondering do I really need the trans-go shift kit?? Without it will the 4l60 just be a waiting time bomb? Or can I get the nelson tune with not so much TM taken out and be fine?

There are mixed feelings on the trans, shiftkit or not. I would reccomend it but I think I am going to change to the vette 1-2 servo. I did both billets and they made a good improvement. With the shift kit and the 1-2 billet it shifts hard with no washers in the 2nd accum. It will help the trans in the long run if done properly. HitmanX likes different size holes in the seperator plate, inother words, doing it properly, a little different from what the instructions tell you. Stick with his advise on the hole size. I had 100% Tqmgt removed and I love it. Before, with no tqmgt removed it would shift, bog, and then go again. Now, it just shifts and keeps going. It does protect the trans but with the transgo/vette/billets you can go wrong with no tqmgt in my opinion.

cool, thanks...I think I am going with the trans-go with the vette servos, what was that about the seperator plate, can you explain the different size holes, and how they make this kit work better?? Sorry very ignorant here when it comes to tranny's. Thanks.

I find this odd, it must be a 4wd thing. my 2wd 04 xcab has very robust low rpm power and throttle response, in fact I find it a big improvement over my y2k with mods. the only
mod installed on the truck now is 3" catback which normally takes away a little bottom end but that's not even the case on this truck[ it also has 18's and 285/60/18 tires, sway bars].
I still have some old and new parts to put on but haven't had time.
The local GM dealer service manager [friend] even drove it the other day and said wtf have you done with that thing, and i told only catback so far. I put headers and cat back on a friends 4wd last week and I thought it didn't have much bottom end either, but he has 20" which I know don't help
So it must be a 4wd thing.
Also, what's up about TM, it really only affects shifting, right, not normal driving and
throttle response.
Anyway, either there is a big difference in 2wd/4wd or I've got a ringer. This thing has got what I'd call " right there" throttle response.
