Default 5.3 combo help

Hey guys great site! Im am getting ready to pick up a LM7 5.3 for my new project 240Z. This site seems to be best when it comes to the 5.3 set ups. The car should tip the scales at about 2500 and 2700 with driver. Car will be used for street duty/autocross/drap strip fun. I know with the light weight I can get away with more cam than the trucks. This is a budget build and would like to make around 320-340 rwhp. Here is what I thinking...

LM7 5.3
TR224R
LS1 or LS6 intake
1 3/4" shorty headers...all they make for swap
2.5" dual exhaust...x pipe...no cats
T-56
3.54 rear gear....may go deeper gear
275/40/17 rear tire....25.7 tall

Sounds like you got it covered man. Make sure you get an LS6 intake, the LS1's intakes are crap.

Thanks for the reply! If the budget is there I will do the ls6 intake. Might have to run a ls1 for a bit. Where does the tr224 seem to make peak power? Need to decide on the 112 or 114 lsa as well.

I think a lot of guys shift their TR224'd 5.3's around 66-6700.

Good info thanks guys. The long tube headers are not a option for this car right now so some Shorties will have to work. I'm almost thinking about maybe the tr228r as well. With the super light vehicle weight might work really well. Plus if I upgraded to a 6.0 the cam would still work well.

sounds like a good start!

Have any photos of the 240z? Always loved those cars when done right!

wow, I would honestly probably leave it exactly as it looks there! Just make it fast and handle like it's on rails, but completely retro looking.
I wouldn't murder it out...
