#1
Hey... I Have A 2000 Gmc Sierra Ext-cab And Running 12.9 Mod: K&n Induction, Asp Crankshaft
Pulley, Hypertech Programmer, Ported Tb, Shorty Header, Magnaflow Catback,
100 Shot Of Nitrous, Tci 3000 Stall Converter, Posi 373 Gear,.... I Want To Put A Cam In It I Was Thinking Of Tr220/220 551/551 112 But I Emailed Thunder Racing And They Told Me About 212/218 522/529 114 For My Truck Due To The Gear And Stall..... If You'll Have Any Info Of What Cam Should Be Best For The Truck? I'll Surely Appreciate It

12.9's is a great time with only those mods !!!!
I'd avoid the TR220, it's a bit much for a street-driven 5.3...that 212/218 would be a good choice, or the the VHP 044 or 047 would work great as well
And welcome to LS1Tech !!!!!

i would go with the tr220, the top end will pull like crazy. I would reccomend the 212/218 without a stall. Check my sig for my cam specs, i'm not afraid of it being too big, when i race my truck sees nothing less than 4200 rpms after it shifts, i have 4.10 gears and a 3200 stall it will put it in the power range very quick and pull pretty hard i hope. I am raising my shift points in the 6200-6500 rpm range, my converter says it will drop aprox. 1700 rpm's between shifts. I can't wait to put in!!!

nice times, hopefully I can bump the 12s once my setup is done, it'll be close to yours. I've got a cam coming its a 216/224 114 lsa 110 CL .558 lift, supposed to be a good nitrous cam with a little bit of a lope
hopefully it won't be bad for a daily driver... Good luck and welcome to ls1tech

Bigblue- A 220/112 will be just a touch big with an extended cab truck, 3k stall and 3.73s. I was the 1st to put a 220 into a 5.3 and I love it. Im very glad i went with a cam that i thought may be "too big" Thunder Racing thought it was going to be too big also, but were amazed at how well it idled and drove even with no tuning. I have a 3k stall and 3.73 gears and am happy with the cams street manners. Being an X-cab, this cam may be a little big for that setup. With 4.10s, I know youd be happy as could be.

I went with lingenfelter's 222/222 .561 gt2-5
Ive got and ecsb z71 with 3.73, the worked heads and all are going in this week if you can hold out Ill let you know how it goes. Im thinking it should pull through 6500. well see
comp does thier custom grindes and they uses thier lobes also plus thier cams only cost 250 check em out
