just got a 6.0 345 hp out of a escalade with 7000 miles on it today for free. a roll over accident and totaled the truck. has anyone done a swap?
i know the exhaust manifolds are the same, and it has the coated pistons in it so no cold start piston slap. cadillacs are the only engines that gm put the coated pistons in. the trans in the escalade is a 4t65e and the one in my truck is a 4t60e so it will bolt up and run. it i have a problem i have gmpp extended warranty and can get paid to fix my own truck. i also am getting ls1 edit, a cam and valve spring change, also installing forged pistons. a new timing chain due to the fact that gm one is thinner than the one on my mountain bike. thinking of getting headers too. any rocomendations well apprecaited.

 

Should be a simple swap. Good Luck and great deal you got. Now of course I'm gonna recommend Arizona Speed and Marine long tubes for headers. Check with Tbyrne, Thunder and MTI for headers and pricing. The Other Guys and Hamm's are good also, but are mid length.

 

i did the swap and it was easy, i didn't do any tuning or anything just thru it in and it ran prety good, no lights or anything. your talking some cash for all that other stuff but if you get all of that it will be a runing machine. ASM headers are nice but i have never seen any of the other brands.
