Default 5.3 to 5.8 stroker?

I've been kicking around the idea of doing this. I know everybody that does a 5.3 stroker bores it and strokes it to a 383. But what about an aluminum block? You can't bore it that far can you? So why not just throw in a 4" crank and a set of pistons to match? Make a 358 c.i. motor out of it. Put it around 11:1 CR and hammer down. Seems to me it would be a great towing motor, lots of bottom end torque. Has anybody done this? If so, what were the results?

for the price of a 4'' crank and a good set of pistons why not go 400+ C.I
358C.I would be cool but why not go big if spending that kind of cash

Well I usually have the top end laying around to support something like a 358. But I'd have to buy heads to support 400+. Plus its DD so I'd kinda like to keep the cubes smaller for gas mileage. Plus, you've seen my strange cam choices, I like to do one off stuff lol.

You would need pistons that fit the 4" stroke and the small bore and although they might exist, I've never seen them. That would be the first thing to check before going farther.
