Default 4wsteer silverado

My best friend has a 4ws 4wd, 5.3, 2003 silverado and it's gutless,
has magnaflow cat back and mid headers and 20's, but no get up and go.
I know some the problem is 20's but we are wondering what to do next, I say 4.10's. I don't know what rear end is in that truck but it sure doesn't look like what's in reg z71.
anyone know what pumpkin is in it, the axle tubes and outer end are obviously
different for 4ws but I can't tell by looking at what rear end is in it to order gears for.

Anyone know

David

haha i would agree with that, when he bought it it was like, what's the most expensive
1/2 ton i can buy, big ego trip, he has since seen the error in his ways, but short of a radix i still think 4'10s will help

david.

If he already has 3.73's, 4.10's aren't going to help that much. Plus it will be really expensive for a swap....

I think the quadrasteer trucks come with a Dana60 out back. Someone was telling me that an offroad magazine was testing one and beat the **** out of it. They said that rear was unbeatable.

Allgonoshow, look in the glovebox for the RPO codes to tell what gears he has.

GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10

It will probably also show G82, that is the RPO code for the limited-slip locker GM uses in the 4WS trucks.

my buddy has an 02 ex cab quadsteer 4x4, with only a magnaflow and nelsen dual tune and it gets on it pretty good, the tune was like a night and day difference. btw it came stock with 4:10s. and as far as i can remember it is a dana 60.

I know I'm diggin' deep here, but maybe this will help:

Allgo, your bud needs a tune, plain and simple. NOTHING else will give the results. I have a Wester's in mine, and my gawd- un-f'ing-believable !!!!!!!!!!

QS's come with Dana 60's, 3.73 or 4.10 gear, Detroit Trac-Loc posi. It's a G86 code (all 4ws's are G86). Delphi developed this for the military first, so it is EXTREME DUTY in the most. They've been tested behind diesels and have no problems coping. They are super-stout units. Quadrasteer only adds 200lbs to the truck, so I don't know why everyone calls them tanks ??

Anyway, if you want to see or read more on their development, check out my homepage. There's a detailed interview with a Delphi tech, also.
