It was a good deal and came with a new converter. I'll be running some new lines and a external cooler as well. I can keep the core, get it rebuilt and sell it and come out ahead to give you an idea. It came from a reputable shop in town that specializes in purchasing overstocks. I know one of the guys that works there (owns a Z28) and he got me everything I needed.

A 4L65E is rather high coin in comparison, so I opted for the 4L60E instead. It did a good job, I think it was well abused before I bought it last year. I'm thinking it was used on a construction site based on all the dirt and crap I found in it. No big deal though, it's just enough to get me by for a while. Like I said, I don't want to put much into it as I'd like to give it to my dad and buy a Duramax next year if things go well.

I'll have it in the truck on Sunday. Have to take a break to go out on Lake Michigan and watch the offshore powerboats race this weekend!
