Default 410 or 373 what would be best?

I have a 00 ext 5.3 with hpp3, free mods, headers, exhaust, t-stat, e-fans, 410 gears, k&n filter, pulleys, traction bars, 20 inch wheels with good year hp 295/40/r20. I went to the track on friday and ran a 15.13 my best time. Some people are telling me i am over geared that i should remove my 410's and install some 373's and i would run faster. Has anyone had any experience with this I would hate to make the expense and get a higher ET. My next mod is the shift kit and corvette servo waiting to be installed.

Thanks for any help!!

Stay with the 4.10's. Especially with your wheel/tire combo.

my wheel tire combo is the exact same size as the original wheels and tires on this truck. i found that out when i set the tire size to default to find out how off the mileage was and it was dead on the mark.

You don't need less gear, you need a high stall converter. Do that and look for some mid 14s with no other mods (traction permitting).

But they weigh more. More mass takes more torque to get going.

dont run at the track with heavy wheels is your first problem.. second i have 373s and im not changing
them no need to. i have 410s in my stang there great but my trap speed isnt that high et is nice.
as far as 373s i run just fine with mine. but everyone is entilted to their own opinion.. if you have them
already then keep them. youll just need to create more top end so your motor doesnt starve itself
out.

Sup.. David... you should have called.. I really did not have any plans early Friday night. I would just keep the 4.10's. The only reason I don't have them is because I really don't think it feasable going from 3.73 to 4.10. On the other hand had I had 3.42's and had to choose between those, I would have gone with some 4.10's. Are you still hooking me up with some traction bars? I will give a call sometime this week.
