i think you should just drive it until you graduate and then get a new truck and mess with it.

I tell you the thing that woke my 4.8 the most is do long tube headers and a custom tune. Depending on what gear you have go with 4.10's or 3.90's thats what im planning on next. Im doing a gear change and a cam swap. If you have 3.42's thats why your truck feels like a slug downlow because mine does 3.42's blow there good on the highway but anywhere else they suck.
yes the LT's seemed to wake mine up also with the duals

just got done with the cam install today tuning next week sometime hopefully. and then the pye3600 and cooler goes in after that. then i will figure what gears i want a 3:90 is sounding good

switching out that 99 pcm to a 02 pcm, a good cam, and a tune would really wake that 4.8 up, it would be enough to make you hungry for more.

well hopefully i can make the best of my 4.8 i love it for the size the motor it is it does great. I love it i just hope the cam swap and the gears make it alot funner to drive...is funner a word? anyways....If money is a budget like mine is since im 17(your 16 i feel for ya) do gears and torque converter first you will be happier with those mods then any other ones. Well except for a 6.0 swap but thats alot of $

4.8s might be small and everything, but i'm amazed how 4.8 guys are able to squeeze all that power out of those engines...besides, everyone tries to make the best out of what they have, so my respects guys...

Buy a blower for the 4.8. Then over time, build a 6.0. My little 99 4.8 lived to 140,000 heavily boosted and abused miles. When she finally broke, I had my 6.0 built and ready to go in. I was proud that I got the 4.8 to go 13.20, but even with the really shitty tune, the 6.0 makes so much more torque it's unbelievable.
