4.8 Not What I Expected?

its got the 3.42's in there...what would a 2400 stall and 3.73s net me in the 1/8th?

oh yeah,and y would her truck,(i know5.3)run 9.50's though?

I don't know if going to 3.73s would be a huge difference. I'd go 4.10 that's what I have and I'm ExCab 4x4. It takes off pretty good to be a 4.8.

9.50 in the 1/8 stock would be 14.91 in the 1/4, thats pretty damn fast for a stock truck but you have to look at temps then and now. My truck bone stock with every thing that gm had on the truck in 80 + weather it ran 15.57 in the 1/4 stock that = a 9.91 run in the 1/8th so cooler temps might have seen better times, oh yeah that was just leaving it in O/D and just flooring it from go stock shift points and all.

With a tune, K&N filter (stock tubing) and a muffler I got my otherwise stock 4.8L to run a best of 14.95@91.9mph 2.29 60'.. It ran cosistant 15.05@92mph last week.

They SUCK on the low end. A converter will totally fix that like the guys above stated.

Get some 4.56 or 4.10 gears and get rid of torque management. THat will wake up the 4.8L

after istalling my stall and shift kit i picked up 4 tenths. besides a custom tune, the stall is the best mod ive done

thanks guys...what size stall should i get without affecting my driveability?oh, and will an electronic shift kit work alright?
