Default 4.8 mods

A local guy is having a "professional lsx engine builder" gather him up some mods for his 4.8 with 3.42 gears. He wants me to do the tuning once its all done so I told him to get me all the specs on cam and everything before hand so I would know what to expect.

Here is what the guy wants to order for him.
Thumpr 291THR9 235/249 .573 .558 109
LS6 Springs
Hardened Push rods
TB converter

I told him the cam is way too big with a stall too small and he will be peaking the springs out on lift. He told the guy he needs to pull a trailer from time to time and this is what he came up with.

My thoughts exactly.

I don't know If I want to suggest my 216/220 525 532 114 to the kid or a Custom grind from Texas speed of something like 216/222 561/566 112LSA 112 ICL with XE lobes but then we'd still be pretty hard on the springs.

i think you meant 108 ICL... a 4.8 with 112 ICL would be weak sauce....

Well I figured that based on the cam I have being 112. Didn't really know how the ICL would play it's role. Would that spec with 108 ICL be better than my xr269HR for his 4.8 In your opinion?

yep that 108 ICL will up the dynamic compression add a little more TQ down low... Personally i would go with more lift, less LSA and 4 degrees of advance...

Well I would Prefer to keep him within LS6 Springs if possible but I'll have to put down some numbers and see what we can do with his budget. less LSA you mean like a 110/109 right?
That's what I'm wanting to go with in mine.
