ok
The 6.0 was a ext cab 3/4 ton
my 4.8 is std cab long bed 1/2 ton
both have 4X4
I still dont see why the 4.8 should out run it...
PS it was my choice to buy the 4.8 ,it was cheaper..now im glad I did

My first new body style truck was an 01 reg cab with the 4.3. When I went to get rid of it I test drove a 4.8 w/3.73s and it felt exactly like my 4.3. Then I moved on to the ext cab 5.3 and fell in love with the extra torque. HP is nothing without torque. DISPLACEMENT.

There you go exactly, the weight difference.Theres the reason you pulled him ,what you called a kill. How about you guys take both trucks on the scale and you add to the back the weight difference, some quads or something,Then go run them.Glad your happy with your 4.8,i have no problem with them, unless you bought it to go fast, then why not go for the 5.3 it's the cheapest mod you could have done. After you spend your first $800 in mods go find your same truck w/5.3 and race him. Also compare fuel mileage, and when you are ready to dump it in a couple of years see which truck holds a better % of book value minus the dollars you spent on mods.

Gonzo got BURNED!
No, Gonzo got common sense.I8AFORD, what size tires are on both trucks? Bigger tires can make a ton of difference. I went from 245's to 265's on my 1500HD and it turned into a dog.

Also, the gearing of the 4L60 is a little lower in first gear than the 4L80, so it's no surprise if you leave him at the start.

IM not doging on a 6.0 or any 6.0s ,I would much rather have one with the same parts I have on my truck....
Im not bragging either that i won...just very shocked
Also do 1/2 ton 4.8s have the 4l60e
and the 3/4 and up has the 4l80e

his friend was pulling a 32' goose neck horse trailer...that's why the 4.8 won.
