STill needing help on few swap ?'s. Will i run into any issues swaping an 00 4.8ltr engine (manual 5sp tranny) with an 02 5.3 out of an automatic truck. thx for any help.

 

for mods.... pistons , cams, and stall are for sure the best mods to do while you are putting the motor in, you could easily swap the intake mani, tb, or header later on. not much you could do for 100$ tho.

 

I was told that i could swap the pistons from my 4.8ltr as they are flat tops into my 5.3ltr to get more compression. Is this true?

 

I read this in another post so I don't know if it is true, but they said that the piston pin height was different between 4.8 and 5.3 pistons.

 

Well to be safe i guess i'm goin to mill heads dn a bit with maybe thin gasket to up compression instead of flat tops.Also am thinkin 206 212 .550 115lsa for good torque cam or maybe even stock z06.... cam think it's around 208 217 i think. Also goin to port out stock 706 heads, just got to find out wich way is the best( sorry not 243's.. rookie mistake) should be able to do the above goodies and stay below 1 grand budget... I hate that word but lately i've been forced to use it. Anyways not that exiting but what do you's think? any more suggestions?
